Women may be getting more health benefits from their workouts compared to men, said a new research. Here's top cardiovascular workouts for ladies. In a new study, researchers have found out that women may be getting more health benefits from their workouts compared to men. The study, published in the prestigious Journal of the American College of Cardiology, found that women can achieve the same 'survival benefit' as men with significantly less exercise. According to the research, women need just under 2.5 hours of moderate to vigorous aerobic activity per week to reap the same rewards that men receive with five hours of physical activity. This means that women who engage in regular exercise could reduce their mortality risk by an impressive 24%, compared to 15% for men.  The study analysed health data from an extensive pool of 412,413 adults across the US, spanning from 1997 through 2019. Why is mud from the Dead Sea so good for your skin?

Image
If Dead Sea mud was good enough for Cleopatra, then it's worth a try, right? Since ancient times, people, including the powerful female pharaoh, have soaked away their ailments in the healing waters of the Dead Sea, a giant salt lake flanked by Israel, Jordan and the West Bank. The mud is thought to be so restorative that hundreds of thousands of tourists visit the Dead Sea each year, while stores around the world peddle skin products made from its mud and salt crystals. The Dead Sea's healing power is more than just myth. The lake boasts high concentrations of magnesium, sodium, phosphates, bromides and other minerals thought to improve skin conditions as well as certain heart and lung conditions. Studies have suggested that Dead Sea minerals can improve the quality of life for psoriasis patients, hydrate the skin and reduce roughness and inflammation. Not only does Dead Sea mud contain these beneficial minerals, but it's also been shown to kill acne-causing bacteria.

Herbal remedies for bites and stings

Image
Insect bites and stings are particularly common during the summer -- luckily, the same time your healing garden is at its peak. An herb garden can take away the "ouch" after a bite or sting. A poultice of fresh plantain leaves is the easiest and safest remedy for mosquito bites and wasp stings. Plantain is an extremely common weed in yards and gardens but serves as an excellent medicine. Simply chew up a leaf (from a plant not sprayed with chemicals) and apply it to the sting. Lavender oil is indispensable for this purpose. Keep it on hand to ease the discomfort of insect bites; rub a little onto the affected area. To make lavender oil, cover finely chopped lavender flowers with 1/4 inch vegetable oil; gently heat lavender and oil together until the mixture is warm and fragrant. Strain and store in a cool dark place. This mixture retains its healing properties for about six months. Mosquito bites and wasp stings can also be treated with a lotion made of witch hazel, or u

Congratulations to Babar for achieving the fastest 10,000 T20 runs milestone. We just have to be more responsible as a batting group,” said Sammy, a former West Indies skipper. Peshawar Zalmi lost their second successive match of the PSL 9 when they were downed by Karachi Kings by a convincing seven wickets margin here at the Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday. Peshawar Zalmi posted 154 thanks to Babar Azam’s fine knock of 72. Karachi Kings chased the target with 19 balls to spare after losing three wickets in the process. “Normally on good pitches you need better bowling. During the last two years PSL has been a high-scoring league in terms of runs. So it says that the pitches here are

Herbal remedies for diabetes

Image
Diabetes is a serious medical condition that requires constant care and attention. There are herbal remedies that improve blood sugar metabolism, which are effective while under a doctor's care. This condition is characterized by the body's inability to move digested carbohydrates and sugars into cells. Insulin, a protein hormone, is necessary to shuttle the nutrients into the cells. People with diabetes either no longer make insulin, don't make enough of it, or their cells stop responding to it no matter how much of it is present. Diabetes that strikes people younger than age 20 is usually Type I, or juvenile-onset diabetes. Researchers think this is an autoimmune disorder in which the body has destroyed its own insulin-making cells. These people must take insulin on a daily basis and watch their diet carefully. Those diagnosed with diabetes after 20 years of age usually have Type II, or adult-onset diabetes. These people are often, but not always, overweight. Their

Bayern Munich to part ways with coach Thomas Tuchel at season end, says club

Image
Bayern Munich have decided to end their collaboration with coach Thomas Tuchel at the end of the current season despite a contract to 2025, the club said on Wednesday. Bayern lost their last three games in all competitions, including a 3-0 defeat to league leaders Bayer Leverkusen and have now dropped eight points behind them in the Bundesliga. They were also beaten 1-0 by Lazio in last week’s Champions League first leg and now risk going without any silverware for the first season in more than a decade. Tuchel had taken over in March 2023 from Julian Nagelsmann with high expectations but he suffered a bumpy start, crashing out of the German Cup and the Champions League before snatching the Bundesliga title from Borussia Dortmund on the final matchday. This season they have been equally mercurial, showing only glimpses of the form that saw them dominate German football for the past decade. They were eliminated from the German Cup by third-tier club Saarbruecken. Bayern CEO Jan-C

Akram, while talking to private channel, expressed disappointment over Islamabad United’s captain coming to bat in the lower order despite showing good form in the last match. However, in yesterday’s match, he came in to bat at number seven and scored a meagre 11 runs from nine balls before his team bundled out at 144. “When you have a captain who is in form and scored 74 in 41 balls in the previous match, why didn’t he come in to bat at three or four?” Akram questioned. “He [Shadab] said in the post-match press conference that the wicket was a bit difficult which is why I wanted to send in a proper batter. “I hope that

How to relieve a toothache

Image
"For there was never yet philosopher that could endure the toothache patiently." Shakespeare was right. The toothache isn't easy to endure. The good news: With improved dental care and regular checkups, the excruciating pain of a toothache is not as common as it once was. But when pain does occur in the mouth, it's an important signal that you should not ignore -- even if it goes away on its own. Tooth pain is varied. Perhaps most common is the minor pain caused by sensitive teeth. You eat or drink something hot, cold, or sweet and feel a momentary twinge. Some people suffer achy teeth because of sinus problems; that's probably the case if you notice that the pain is limited to your upper teeth and that several teeth are affected at one time. Bruxism (or teeth grinding) or a problem with your temporomandibular joint may be the cause of toothaches or sensitivity. And, recent dental work can cause a tooth to be sensitive to temperature changes for a few weeks.

Handful of nuts a day linked to lower risk of depression

Their 121-run partnership finally lasted in the 17th over when Dawid Malan misjudged Daniel Sams’ slower delivery and launched the ball straight to substitute fielder Irfan Khan at deep midwicket.
