Rain dampens India-England warm-up match in Guwahati
The much-anticipated World Cup warm-up clash between hosts India and defending champions England was marred by rain on Saturday, resulting in the match being abandoned without a single ball being bowled.

India's captain, Rohit Sharma, won the toss and chose to bat first, but persistent rain in the northeastern Indian city of Guwahati led to a prolonged delay, ultimately forcing the cancellation of the match.

England, under the leadership of Jos Buttler, is now hoping for improved weather conditions as they prepare for their second warm-up encounter against Bangladesh at the same venue on Monday.

Meanwhile, India is set to face the Netherlands in their second warm-up match in Thiruvananthapuram. However, this venue has also experienced rain and a washout, adding to the unpredictability caused by the weather.

The 50-over showpiece event is scheduled to kick off in Ahmedabad, with England squaring off against New Zealand at the world's largest cricket stadium.
